He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and subsequently at the Brera Academy in Milan. In the 1980s, he was among the founders of Nuovo Futurismo, an experience that reworked the energy of the historical avant-gardes in the light of the consumer society, mass communication and popular culture. His research has distinguished itself through an immediately recognisable language, built through brilliant colour, formal synthesis and references to the collective imagination.

Nuovo Futurismo

Nuovo Futurismo placed the speed of images, urban dynamism and the contamination between art, design, advertising and entertainment at its centre. Lodola shared this sensibility, developing a repertoire that includes music, cinema, sport, cars, dance and pop culture figures. His works do not merely cite well-known icons: they transform them into synthetic forms, capable of functioning as autonomous visual signs. Mass culture thus becomes a creative material and a territory for observing the contemporary world.

Light as a plastic element

The use of light is one of the most characteristic aspects of his work. Perspex silhouettes and luminous structures transform the drawing into a three-dimensional presence, capable of engaging with architecture and the environment. Neon and lighting are not simple decorative effects: they modify the perception of form, make the colour more intense and ensure that the work is active within the surrounding space. Light becomes matter and contributes to defining the identity of the image.

Figures and movement

Motorcyclists, dancers, musicians, couples, cars and entertainment figures are reduced to essential silhouettes. This simplification allows the gesture and movement to be captured with immediacy. The lines are fluid, the colour fields are sharp and the composition often suggests speed. The result recalls advertising graphics and comic strips, but maintains a precise artistic identity: the images become symbols of desire, energy, freedom and shared memory.

Collaborations and public space

Lodola has taken his language outside the traditional gallery circuit, collaborating with companies, institutions, cultural events and leading figures from music and entertainment. His works have been presented in museums, urban spaces and international contexts. This openness is consistent with his idea of art as an accessible language capable of engaging with daily life. The work can become an element of urban furniture, a light installation or an iconic image, without losing its recognisability.

Critical interpretation

Marco Lodola’s research combines a Futurist heritage, Pop imagery and luminous experimentation. His strength lies in the ability to transform familiar images into synthetic and dynamic presences. Light gives the works an environmental dimension, while colour and silhouette reinforce their immediacy. His language traverses art, design and communication, proposing a vision of contemporaneity in which shared visual culture becomes the material of artistic construction.

["post-938","artisti","type-artisti","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
