History

Armanda Gori Arte was founded in April 1998 by Armanda Gori and her husband Aldo Marchi, following their growing passion for contemporary art and their subsequent activity as collectors.

In its early years, the Gallery dedicated itself to organising various ‘Art Cafés’ at its first location in Via Jacopo Nardi, Prato. These Art Cafés were attended by the artists whose exhibitions were being organised, critics, industry professionals, collectors, and friends who were beginning to develop a passion for contemporary art.

In 2002, the gallery moved to its current exhibition space at Viale della Repubblica 66, also in Prato, continuing to showcase historic Italian artists in exhibitions organised both within the gallery and in institutional spaces.

Since 2014, the gallery has been present in the renowned Versilia area, with a summer venue in the splendid setting of Pietrasanta, and/or collaborating with the prestigious La Versiliana Foundation, where exhibitions of national interest featuring 20th and 21st-century artists have been organised.

The gallery coordinated the publication of the general catalogue for the maestro Tino Stefanoni; furthermore, Aldo Marchi, appointed by the artist’s son Mario Chiari, is a scientific collaborator for the Giuseppe Chiari Archive.
